History

HISTORY:
This group started when Jason had been tutoring Shane on music composition on the computer. Shane took to learning it so fast that we started talking about working together in music. That idea sparked the name Sixty-Six. The idea came along with another idea….that would be that there were actually 66 full group members. How something like that would even work…I don’t know…but the idea came and we still remember it.

Jason (who also goes by Sixty-Six independently and as DJ Sixty-Six when performing) grew up listening to electronic music composed on the computer for the demo/mod scene. He eventually graduated to real electronic music done by the pro DJs. He knew he had wanted to work on music like that and started a long journey into discovering just how he would do it. He’s been through many life changes since then including drugs, depression and a complete turn-around in a committment to Christ. He has been able to freely find the ability to make his electronic music styles since.

Shane McCauley (independently known as DR.MIXX) grew up almost as an only-child (one older sister who is a whole generation ahead of him), and he would always find himself completely mastering concepts of building and experimenting and especially all kinds of games. When he met Jason, the two of them completely bonded almost immediately as best friends or brothers. They would spend a lot of time playing games together. Jason saw in Shane a potential to enjoy and to excel in sequencing music on computer, and so he found that he would do just that. Shane contributed immensely to Jason’s energy and motivation and in many technical areas when finally the two joined together as Sixty-Six.

Ah - and then there was Greg Ng who also independently goes by the producer name of Transflow.  About the same age as Shane and every bit and byte as intelligent.  He remixed dj404’s first track called Deep Inside and impressed a lot of people at the ripe age of 17.  He got the influence he needed for that remix from working on it while sharing bits of it with Jason.  When Jason heard it he gave his feedback and so it went.  The two actually fueled each other’s inspiration for each of their own remixes of the same track.  Afterward Greg asked if he could join the group and the consensus was yes.  We’re now 3, plus the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Who’s next?
